ALS Water operates a modern laboratory in Canberra (Fyshwick) that is equipped with the latest in analytical technology. Currently seeking a Sampler (Part-Time, ~23hrs/week) to become a part of a team that strives to exceed customer expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships with their clients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: · Scheduling and maintaining sampling schedule. · Boat licence preferred with confidence in operating a boat (inland waters) desirable · Sampling of client sites from rivers, lakes and groundwater monitoring bores using specialised equipment (including interstate overnight trips) · Experience in operating a 4wd and an ability to work in all-weather are strongly desired in the applicant. · Sample pickup and delivery. · Sub-sampling and distribution of samples. · Ensuring that the quality of work is maintained in accordance with QWIs. · Maintaining client relations. · Maintaining a professional image. · Adhering to all safety requirements. About you The ideal candidate would have the following attributes. · Experience in water sampling, groundwater experience is an advantage. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Excellent organisational skills. · Works effectively independently and in a team environment. · Availability to work on-call roster. · A current manual driver’s license is essential, 4WD experience is desirable · A current boat license is desirable, as is alpine waters experience · Experience operating in remote and alpine areas, rough terrain and unpredictable weather is desirable · Ability to spend long periods driving · Solve basic problems / lateral thinker Working at ALS The ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
