We are currently seeking a compassionate Family Support Worker to provide trauma-informed, practical, and emotional care within both community and home settings. This role focuses on strengthening family functioning, fostering resilience, and encouraging social participation by delivering tailored support that empowers individuals and their families to achieve long-term wellbeing. Key Responsibilities and Tasks: Identifies and assists families in accessing relevant services, including mental health care, community support programs, and recovery-focused resources. Works alongside Welfare and Social Workers to develop and implement family assessments, safety plans, and support goals tailored to individual needs. Promotes engagement in Recovery Coaching and Community Hub activities to support emotional wellbeing and social inclusion. Provides in-home support focused on hygiene, safety, structured routines, and daily living skills to help families build stability and independence. Advocates for clients during health and service appointments, offering emotional reassurance and practical assistance. Applies trauma-informed practices during moments of distress, using grounding techniques and emotional regulation strategies. Encourages participation in parenting programs, peer networks, and local community initiatives to reduce isolation and foster connection. Maintains clear documentation of family wellbeing, progress, and service engagement to support coordinated, quality care. Qualifications & Requirements : Relevant qualification Minimum 1 year of experience in a client-facing or family support role. Strong understanding of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and family-focused care practices. Well‑developed communication skills with the ability to build trust‑based relationships. Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Caring and empathetic personality, with a commitment to supporting client wellbeing and empowerment. Strong organisational and time‑management skills, including the ability to manage caseloads, prepare reports, and follow up appointments effectively. Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 p.a. plus superannuation, based on a 38-hour work week.
