About the Role: Reporting directly to the Manager Financial Strategy, the Rates and Revenue Coordinator is responsible for leading the effective management of Council's revenue functions, including rates and charges, fees and user charges, grant acquittals, and statutory compliance. This role ensures accurate billing, efficient collection, and transparent reporting of Council's revenue streams, while providing leadership to the Rates and Revenue team and delivering high-quality customer service. Key Responsibilities Include: Lead, mentor, and support the Rates and Revenue team to deliver high-quality, customer-focused services. Coordinate the annual rates and charges process, including levying, issuing notices, and managing objections. Apply differential rating, concessions, and supplementary valuations accurately. Monitor outstanding debts and report on collection performance. Advise stakeholders on rating and revenue matters. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, prepare statutory returns and reports. Oversee billing and collection of fees and user charges of Council Services, ensuring correct pricing and timely invoicing. Coordinate grant financial acquittals and maintain accurate records for audits. Support the Manager Financial Strategy with rates and revenue issues. Contribute to organisational projects and build strong stakeholder relationships to enhance Council's revenue model. About You: To support your success in this role you will have: Demonstrated experience in managing revenue functions within a local government or similar complex environment. In-depth knowledge of rating legislation, property systems, fees and charges, and grant acquittals. Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills. High level of proficiency in relevant systems (e.g., Pathway) and Microsoft Office. High level of proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel. Proven ability to lead and manage rates and revenue operations and teams. High attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills. Committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and child safety. Tertiary qualifications in Business (Accounting), Finance, or a related discipline are essential.
