Power & Energy SMEC is a global provider of engineering, environmental and construction services, consolidating all aspects of Energy and Renewables Infrastructure from planning to delivery. Our expertise includes grid connection studies, substation design, policy and sector planning, carbon services, load forecasting models, and long-term generation planning using simulation and dynamic programming techniques. We have delivered stand-alone and grid-tie photovoltaic and solar thermal projects, ‘water to wire’ services on mini and micro-hydro projects, geothermal power plants and generation facilities. The Role We are seeking to engage a Senior / Project Manager to join our Power & Energy Team. This role can be based in any of our offices across Australia . You’ll be responsible for applying high-level innovative, economical, and practical methods to drive the success of complex, high-priority projects across SMEC’s major renewable energy projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering (or equivalent); Project Management qualifications highly beneficial Project management of complex and large-scale Civil Infrastructure on Energy projects (Substations, Windfarms, Solarfarms) Proactively collaborating with team members, contributors, and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness, and co-ordination of deliverables Financial management, client liaison and contract administration Oversight and governance of projects to resolve project issues and ensure project product is of high quality Provision of coaching and support to project personnel Source, build and maintain strong and effective client relationships through successful project delivery and targeted activities About You Suitable applicants will be/have: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering (or equivalent); Project Management qualifications highly beneficial Minimum 10 years Project management experience of complex and large-scale Civil Infrastructure on Energy projects High level communication skills to advise and guide project delivery in a pro-active manner A track record of achievement in a similar role and a passion for building trusted relationships with tier one developers to drive positive change and win new work In return, SMEC offers you the benefits that come from working in a global multidisciplinary consultancy in an environment where your fresh ideas and enthusiasm will be welcomed and rewarded.
