About this role What G4S can offer you Paid 4-week, full-time comprehensive training program $23.37 training rate, increasing to $30.69 penalties after training Uncapped $500 bonuses if you refer someone that becomes a G4S employee About the role and team In partnership with Victoria Police, G4S-operated Police Gaols are the main reception points for people who have been charged by the Police, and people in custody who are required to attend court. The services we provide range from accommodation, escorting people in custody to their court appearance and 24/7 medical services. All services are designed to ensure the safety, well-being and security of people in custody, staff and the community. We are looking for Full-Time Custodial Officers to join our team at the Wyndham Law Courts working across other Police Gaols at Melbourne Custody Centre, Ringwood Magistrates Court, Collingwood Neighbourhood Justice Centre, Moorabbin Justice Centre, and Dandenong Childrens Court with training commencing in Late September. In this role, you will: Ensure the welfare of people in court and custody Manage and escort people through the facility, in court and custody, and provide custody services during court hearings Operate the control room and ensure the safe and secure operation of the Police Gaol Report on incidents, occupational health and safety, risk mitigations and intelligence Dealing with visitors, contractors, Victoria Police, and other stakeholders Search for people in custody Work a Monday to Friday schedule - 8-hour shifts within our core hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm What we're looking for Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build rapport with people of all ages from varying backgrounds Demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills Experience working as part of and contributing towards a close-knit team Strong written communication with an understanding of report writing Positive, solutions-focused approach to complex and challenging issues with the ability to think outside the box The capability to meet the physical requirements of the role The ability to achieve a clearance through a criminal record check (including fingerprints) Hold a current Victorian Working With Children's Check or be willing to obtain A current driver's licence (desirable, but not essential) The recruitment process G4S runs a staged recruitment process that includes: Applying online with a CV Completing a Virtual Job Preview Attending an on-site interview Background checks, including a national police check, a reference check and a medical assessment About G4S Australia and New Zealand G4S, An Allied Universal® Company is a leading security and facility services company that provides proactive security services and cutting-edge smart technology to deliver tailored, integrated security solutions.
