We are currently looking for a: Raging Water Sydney - Facilities Handyman About the role: The Facilities Handyman plays a vital role in the upkeep and presentation of park infrastructure. This hands on role focuses on basic building and infrastructure repairs, including concrete patching, timber fixes, surface painting, and support for broader maintenance activities. The role also supports trades staff and contractors during larger projects and contributes to the overall cleanliness and presentation of the park. The ideal candidate is semi-skilled with practical experience in a similar role, capable of working independently, and demonstrates initiative in identifying and resolving maintenance issues. Roles & Responsibilities: Roles & Responsibilities Perform general handyman tasks across the park including: Patching and repairing concrete paths, walls, stairs, and foundations Painting of surfaces across guest, staff, and operations areas Repair of timber fixtures including fences, railings, benches, and shade structures Minor repair of gates, signs, cladding, and external building features Fixing loose or damaged components in guest and staff areas Carry out routine inspections and respond promptly to maintenance issues Identify and report faults or hazards to the Facilities Team Leader Undertake assigned corrective and preventive maintenance tasks Assist with general carpentry, paving, minor brickwork, and park infrastructure touch-ups Maintain accurate records and logs of completed works and inspections Support for Projects and Trades: Assist with the setup and execution of small projects across the park Support contractors and tradespeople with labour and preparation tasks Move tools, supplies, and materials around the site as required Maintain work areas in a clean and safe condition Other Duties and Flexibility: Provide cross-department support as needed, including: Cleaning support during events or peak periods General landscaping (e.g., raking, minor pruning, grounds tidying) Setup and pack down of temporary structures or signage Perform other duties as directed by the Facilities Team Leader or Director of Facilities Be flexible and responsive to evolving park needs and priorities Workplace Health & Safety (WHS): Follow and comply with Work Health Safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. Use all safety and personal protective equipment correctly. Demonstrate safe work behaviours and lead by example. Report any WHS incidents, injuries, or near misses to your Manager and First Aid immediately. Actively promote hazard and near-miss reporting. Attend Work Group Meetings to discuss safety topics and contribute to improvements. Must be available to work a minimum of twice per week during the peak season 15 December 2025 to 1 February 2026. The hourly rates are in accordance with the Amusement, Events and Recreation Award. Facilities Handyman raged 20 years or older are paid at a Grade 4 hourly rate of $28.12 per hour plus 25% casual loading ($35.15per hour includes casual loading). Different rates apply for applicants 19 years of age and under. Penalty rates apply for Sundays and Public Holidays.
