About the Role As a groundsperson/labourer you will assist our sports turf team with various tasks related to cricket pitch maintenance as they prepare natural turf wickets in the lead up to the cricket season kicking off. Located at Cricket Central in Silverwater, the work will be hands on with a mix of sports turf, landscape and horticulture activities. Responsibilities Assist in maintaining high-performance natural turf cricket wickets to elite training and match standards Undertake activities related to pitch preparation and post-match recovery Maintain outfield areas to ensure consistent, safe, and visually presentable playing surfaces Under instruction from senior staff undertake activities such as mowing, irrigation, fertilisation, pest and disease management, and turf renovation. About You You don't mind getting your hands dirty and being active in your day-to-day work. You work well in a team and have the ability to follow instructions. You have a passion for sport and if you love playing cricket that would be a huge bonus - an understating of how a wicket affects play would be a great advantage for this role. If you have previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or a related field this would be looked upon favourably. You have physical stamina with the ability to safely lift and carry heavy objects, bend, squat, kneel, and stand for extended periods. Working outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and the sun doesn't phase you. You have a white card and a valid drivers licence. Some weekend work could be on offer as the season gets closer. Above all you have a strong work ethic and a commitment to completing your work efficiently and to the highest standards following all safety protocols.
