Senior Onshore Pipelines Engineer Location: Brisbane Type: 12-Month Agency Contract (Full-Time) Discipline: Onshore Pipeline Engineering About the Role An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Onshore Pipelines Engineer to join a leading project delivery team supporting major energy and resources developments across Australia and Papua New Guinea. This role will contribute to a wide range of pipeline design and impact assessment studies at various stages, from concept through to execution. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical capabilities in carbon steel and HDPE pipeline systems , a deep understanding of Australian regulatory standards , and a collaborative approach to project delivery. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering practices. Key Responsibilities Lead and review the design of onshore pipeline systems using industry-recognised engineering practices. Ensure compliance with Australian standards (including AS2885), environmental regulations, and client specifications. Prepare cost and schedule estimates for project proposals. Identify and manage engineering risks; support the development of mitigation and change management strategies. Oversee pipeline routing, material selection, wall thickness calculations, and interface with geotechnical and environmental teams. Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the pipeline discipline. Participate in design reviews and support construction and commissioning phases as required. Requirements Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Civil, or Pipeline Engineering or a related discipline. Current registration as RPEQ (QLD), RPEV (VIC), or IEPNG (PNG) . Proven experience in onshore pipeline design and construction , particularly with carbon steel pipelines to AS2885 standards. Familiarity with fracture control , line pipe specifications, and materials engineering. Knowledge of HDPE network design and APGA Code of Practice . Demonstrated experience with pipeline construction support , risk assessments, and HSE compliance. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Must have full working rights in Australia .
