One of the Sunshine states largest local councils is on the lookout for a candidate to help drive waste diversion, project delivery, and environmental sustainability across the Sunshine Coast. In this varied role, you’ll contribute to the planning and delivery of waste projects, manage contractors, and support improvements at our landfill, transfer stations and recycling facilities. Key Responsibilities Plan and manage waste facility projects, contracts, and programsSupervise Council officers and contractors at waste and resource recovery sitesUndertake technical investigations to improve site operations and performanceEnsure compliance with environmental legislation, permits, and safety policiesProvide informed advice to stakeholders and support community waste programsKeep accurate records, prepare reports, and monitor project and budget performanceIdentify opportunities for waste diversion and recycling innovationPromote responsible waste behaviors through engagement with the public, schools, and businesses Successful Candidate You’ll bring strong technical know-how, a practical mindset, and a genuine interest in sustainability. You're comfortable working on-site or behind the scenes, and enjoy collaborating with others to find effective solutions.
