Primary Objective As the Technical Officer your primary objective is to assist the PBS supervisor in leading, managing and developing a collaborative and highly effective team, providing high quality services to support the processing of PBS vehicle approval applications. Provide operational leadership, managing daily workflow and training of new starters. Provide high level coordination and support in running the PBS Operations Team, and to ensure customer service standards are achieved and provide high level technical expertise as it relates to heavy vehicles, and performance to support complex application and case management. Please note: This position is temporary until 26/06/2026 Your key responsibilities will include: Contribute to the management and leadership of the PBS Vehicle Approvals team, including allocation of workload and tasks, leave management and reporting of key metrics. Mentor and support the professional development of team members and undertake training of new starters. Support the Manager, PBS Vehicle Approvals in the delivery of an efficient and accurate PBS Vehicle Approval application process to ensure customer service and quality standards are achieved. Assist with development and implementation of demand management strategies to ensure the NHVR delivers an efficient service to its customers. Support the Manager, PBS Vehicle Approvals to ensure policies and practices related to PBS Vehicle Approvals are effective and responsive to change. Build and maintain effective working relationships with industry representatives, customers, and government partners.
