We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Technology Portfolio and Governance Manager to join us in our Strategy Architecture and Performance team in Sydney (preferred) Brisbane or Melbourne on 8-month fixed term basis. Reporting to the Head of Strategy, Architecture and Performance, this role is responsible for overseeing project governance and performance across Technology’s $30M portfolio. Key areas include portfolio management, resource prioritisation, benefits tracking, and performance reporting. With a focus on metrics and outcomes, the role ensures alignment between Technology initiatives and business goals. It also leads the development and management of portfolio capabilities, project frameworks, financial oversight, and workforce planning—driving continuous improvement, strategic alignment, and value delivery across APA’s Technology function. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end portfolio governance by facilitating investment planning, prioritisation, and resource allocation in alignment with Strategy, Architecture, and Delivery teams to maximise value within funding and resource constraints. Establish and oversee robust portfolio reporting frameworks covering budget, forecast, performance metrics, risk, and resource utilisation—ensuring visibility and accountability across the $30M Technology portfolio. Drive benefit realisation and performance improvement by capturing, tracking, and reporting measurable outcomes from projects and programs, enabling strategic alignment and data-driven decisions. Implement and mature portfolio governance frameworks, standards, and tools, supporting consistent project delivery, assurance reviews, and best practices across the project lifecycle. Foster cross-functional collaboration through continuous improvement and prioritisation forums, ensuring cohesive engagement with stakeholders across Technology, ePMO, Project Accounting, and the broader business. Your Background Proven Technology Leadership & Portfolio Management, experience in technology leadership, including managing multimillion-dollar portfolios aligned with strategic priorities, risk frameworks, and benefit realisation protocols. Executive Reporting & Performance Insights: Extensive experience delivering executive-level dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI to track KPIs, investment performance, and capacity planning with actionable insights. Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in influencing and collaborating with senior stakeholders, driving technology strategy, investment decisions, and organisational alignment across complex environments. Governance, Risk & Compliance Excellence: Deep knowledge of technology governance frameworks, risk and assurance standards, and industry best practices to ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality service delivery. Continuous Improvement & Capability Uplift: Champion of continuous learning and innovation, with demonstrated success in fostering high-performing teams, embedding improvement initiatives, and aligning workforce development with business goals. 5 years’ experience working in a technology leadership role.
