About the Opportunity Austal and the Commonwealth of Australia are currently negotiating a landmark Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA) that will support the Continuous Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Enterprise and the delivery of multiple new defence force shipbuilding projects, such as Landing Craft-Medium and Landing Craft-Heavy for the Australian Army. Once signed, the SSA will drive significant growth across our industry and workforce, as we deliver both existing and new programs under a long-term partnership. It will also enable the design and construction of vessels at our Henderson shipyard and marks a major step forward in establishing enduring shipbuilding capability within the Henderson Defence Precinct and across Western Australia. To achieve this, we are building a highly skilled team, to engage with local industry and supply chains, and work on complex, large-scale projects that reflect Austal’s proven capabilities and trusted performance. Reporting to the Transformation Change Manager, the Change Management Specialists are key roles within the Business Transformation function, responsible for delivering change management services across projects and initiatives across the business. This role primarily focuses on identifying and managing the change impacts and the related people risks to the multiyear program of work. What's Involved: Leading change management activities for projects and initiatives aligned with the ADSA Transformation Program, ensuring changes are prioritised and executed. Manage a portfolio of projects across SSA requiring fit for purpose and varying levels of change management advisory and specialist hands on support. Identify, plan and implement change management requirements to support successful project outcomes. Collaborate with Project Managers, Program Managers, Sponsors and key stakeholders to develop and implement effective change management plans. Develop and maintain detailed change artefacts, work plans and schedules to ensure timely delivery of change initiatives. Apply and utilise Austal’s Change Management Framework, processes, tools, activities Support the Leader-Led Change capability development for Austal’s people leaders, Change Champions, Project Managers, and key internal and external stakeholders to strengthen organisational change maturity. Enhance organisational capability in change management through coaching and mentoring initiatives. Ensure governance and compliance with ADSA reporting requirements. Skills and Experience Tertiary qualification in a relevant field e.g. Management, Organisational Development or Communications Hold a Change Management certification at practitioner level or higher (Prosci or similar) Minimum 5 years’ experience leading and managing digital change initiatives in complex organisation environments. Designing and implementing fit for purpose change management practices, methodologies, tools, processes and activities Demonstrated experience in change impact and complexity assessments, mapping change requirements, design and delivery of sustainable change in a long-term setting, communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Providing change management services in a portfolio of projects in multiple concurrent functional areas. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability and commitment to establishing and maintaining strong working relationships.
