This role delivers high-impact policy and advocacy work that drives national reform and engages government at all levels. It involves working alongside self-advocates, families, and sector leaders to ensure lived experience informs policy direction and outcomes. With a focus on influence and inclusion, the role supports empowered voices, meaningful change, and greater visibility for people with disability and their communities. Key duties of this role are to: Lead policy development and reform by designing and implementing impactful advocacy initiatives that support Endeavour Foundation’s strategic priorities in disability and employment services. Prepare high-quality documentation including policy papers, briefing notes, reports, and communications for diverse internal and external audiences. Influence government and stakeholders through proactive relationship management across local, state, and national levels, collaborating with partners to drive coordinated policy outcomes. Deliver public advocacy campaigns that raise awareness, build support, and promote policy change, including joint initiatives with sector organisations. Champion the voice of people with disability by working closely with self-advocates, building their capacity, and ensuring advocacy aligns with lived experience and client needs. Conduct robust policy research and analysis by gathering insights from legislation, discussion papers, stakeholder engagement, and frontline feedback to identify key systemic issues. Maintain strategic alignment by ensuring consistent messaging across campaigns, providing sector insights to senior leaders, and representing the organisation in advocacy activities and consultations. What you can bring to the team To succeed in this role, you will bring strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. A genuine commitment to inclusion, respect for lived experience, and confidence engaging with government stakeholders will be key to building trusted relationships and driving meaningful reform. To succeed in this role, you will have: Tertiary qualifications in Political Science, Public Relations, Journalism, Law, Economics or Business (highly regarded). Knowledge and understanding of the local, state and national political landscape, including legislative and policy processes and the public service. In-depth understanding of issues impacting people with disability and their families and supports, or the ability to acquire this understanding quickly. Solid experience in developing and translating policy concepts into compelling narratives that will influence decision-makers and the public. A strong political background with political connections. Strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be required to undertake a “Fit2Work” National Criminal History Check and hold or be willing to obtain a Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
