We are currently seeking applications for a Manager, Financial Accounting, to join Financial Accounting at The Department of Treasury & Finance for a period of up to 24 months. Remuneration: ASO8 – Salary Range $121,107 – 125,679 p.a. (12% Superannuation) About the opportunity: The Manager Financial Accounting is a key leadership position within the Financial Accounting business unit of Shared Services SA. The Manager Financial Accounting is responsible for leading efficient and effective: Delivery of financial accounting and management services. Development of and compliance with financial accounting procedures Preparation of financial statements, audit liaison and briefing processes In addition, the Manager will oversee business changes and continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve the quality, timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting and services, effectively identify and manage risks and enhance financial management compliance. About you Proven experience in identifying and implementing business improvement and change management initiatives within a large and dynamic accounting environment. To be successful you will need: Degree level qualification in accounting, finance, economics (or equivalent) and eligibility for membership to a professional accounting body Demonstrated ability to lead and manage financial services in a large and complex service delivery orientated business. Ability to effectively manage and develop staff (within a small team) to foster initiative, promote teamwork and performance management practices to achieve outcomes. Demonstrated experience in liaising effectively and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to facilitate cooperation and support in achieving outcomes and to establish and maintain effective working relationships, including strong written and oral communication. Proven ability to prioritise and organise work to meet completing deadlines and remain focused on key objectives in a demanding work environment. Commitment to financial accounting and management practices/compliance, including a strong understanding of accounting standards and related governance frameworks and their application in a government context. Proven experience in successfully managing the preparation of financial statements, provision of complex financial and accounting advise and analysis of financial data in a complex organisation.
