About the Role Join a team that supports some of Australia’s most well-known resort locations. As the Resorts Accountant, reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, you’ll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency across a diverse hospitality portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Resort General Managers and operational teams, providing financial insights that help drive performance and profitability. It’s a hands-on position where your expertise will contribute to the smooth running of resort operations and the delivery of memorable guest experiences. Key to the success of this fast paced role will be an individual with demonstrated experience in the hospitality industry who has an understanding of the accounting principles of an accommodation provider that offers services to guests (Food &Beverage, tours etc.) who is highly organised, with the ability to assess multiple concurrent demands within a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated individual to collate, process and review the financial transactions associated with a portfolio of resorts. The duties and responsibilities of the Resorts Accountant will include, but are not limited to: Month-End & Reporting Prepare and post month-end journals, accruals, and adjustments. Deliver clear and accurate P&L analysis providing value adding reporting to stakeholders. Ensure timely transaction processing and identify areas for workflow improvement. Collating and processing stocktakes in the inventory management system using information sourced from the individual properties and issuing stock reports. Investigate and resolve stock variances in collaboration with resort teams. Operational Support Assist with annual budgets and quarterly re-forecast process. Maintain inventory and POS systems, including updates for new items and suppliers. Reconcile F&B purchase invoices across inventory management and finance systems to ensure consistency. Support continuous improvement of financial policies and procedures. Communicate effectively with Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders. Contribute to year-end balance sheet reconciliations across the resort network. What You’ll Bring Experience Proven experience in a hospitality function offering accommodation and food & beverage (and ideally other services). A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CA/CPA qualification preferred) Skills & Attributes Proficiency in H&L Inventory Management system is strongly desired and Medium to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Solid understanding of hospitality accounting, including inventory and margin analysis. Ability to work autonomously to deliver key tasks according to the month end timetable. Using your initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and escalate these to the Finance Business Partner and/or operations teams. Ability to work effectively in a team where many of the key stakeholders are in remote locations. Desirable Experience with Power BI or similar analytics tools. Skills in financial/data modelling and report creation.
