The key duties of the position include The Role The Quality Assurance Officer (QAO) is critical in maintaining the overall capability and effectiveness of the Navy Training Force (TF). The QAO is responsible for ensuring that the organization is prepared for any training updates, including to but not limited to accredited training and the assurance of these qualifications. Another key responsibility of the QAO is to work with the greater TF Governance and Assurance team to provide support for validation activities (both VET and internal) and provide SME knowledge to inform policy where necessary. Furthermore, the QAO brings a unique perspective and set of communication lines to the organization that contribute to increased efficiency and effectiveness in stakeholder engagement. About our Team The TGA team is distributed across three worksites in ACT, NSW and WA, and consists of a variety of Uniform and APS members. The requirements of the team include: Manage Navy Training Forces assurance requirements including Internal and External processes. Liaise with Deputy Director Training Governance and Assurance (DDTGA) to inform compliance requirements (both RTO & internal) as part of Navy Training Quality Framework Inspection activities. Administer, maintain and sponsor civilian accreditation and Navy Training Governance process and procedures. Liaise with service organisations, Training Force Contracts, Industry Skills Councils, RTO Regulators and other VET organisations to maintain DRTO training accreditation requirements. Represent Navy at Defence RTO management and working group meetings. Our Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate for this position should have an extensive knowledge and experience with training governance, assurance and compliance. This includes but not limited to, audits/validations, record keeping, rules of evidence, recognition of prior learning/advanced standing and evaluation. Some understanding of the reporting/auditing requirements for Registered Training Organisations (RTO's) is preferable but not a requirement. A general awareness of how the ADF operates and has an understanding of ADF rank structures/processes.
