Introduction Who we are looking for We're looking for a Water Quality Compliance Officer to ensure the quality of drinking water for all customers across our region. You will coordinate and implement the Drinking Water Quality Risk Management Plan (DWQRMP), supporting continuous improvement innovations while adhering to compliance standards in an impeccable manner. The position involves the provision of strategic and technical advice associated with the planning and operation of drinking water, emphasising an integrated catchment to tap approach, protecting public and environmental health. This is a full time, ongoing position based at the Warrnambool office, with a generous salary of $88,863 to $96,615 p.a. plus superannuation. Description What you'll be doing On a day-to-day basis, you'll: Develop and oversee the implementation of the DWQRMP, providing both technical and administrative support with a strong focus on continuous improvement. Assist with documentation and records to align with staged regulatory changes under the Safe Drinking Water Regulations 2025. Lead risk management and compliance investigations across catchments, water treatment plants, and distribution systems, delivering practical outcomes. Produce source water assessments, water quality improvement plans, and treatment plant performance reports. Skills And Experiences What you’ll bring We’re looking for someone with A tertiary qualification in engineering, environmental engineering or the sciences, or other appropriate technical qualifications, or substantial relevant industry experience. Knowledge of water industry legislation and proficiency in the application of theoretical and/or scientific disciplines. A working knowledge of integrated management systems (either safety, quality or environment), risk management practices, and frameworks. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
