The Role: A Senior Software Engineer at PI is responsible for delivering high-quality technical solutions and contributing to successful project outcomes, making critical decisions on the software design and development of medtech devices and applications. A Senior Software Engineer contributes to the overarching development of the software from concept through to implementation of the final product, translating complex technical requirements into robust software solutions. Experience with Low-Level Design will also be advantageous. Responsibilities: Technical Delivery Contribute to software scoping, estimation and technical planning activities. Provide technical expertise across multiple areas of software development. Make major contributions to design, code, test, debug and documentation of software according to the client needs. Contribute to software architecture decisions and technical design reviews, ensuring code quality through pro-active peer reviews and adherence to coding standards. Collaborate with other engineers, identify and communicate dependencies to ensure smooth integration across other components. Develop, maintain and support programs/tools for internal and external clients. Design and develop testing and maintenance procedures and activities. Team Collaboration and Mentorship Actively support Agile ceremonies for project team and ensure delivery meets client expectations. Lead, mentor and coach junior engineers, providing constructive input during code reviews and technical discussions. Help foster continuous improvement culture within the team and strengthen team processes. Quality & Compliance Ensure all work meets PI quality procedures and relevant international quality standards. Typical experience we are looking for includes: Experience integrating hardware and software. Experience developing software for medical devices under the IEC62304 standard. Agile methodologies and ways of working. Demonstrated experience of working to IEC62304, IEC62366, ISO13485, ISO14971, IEC 81001-5-1 standards.
