The role: The Process Excellence and Training Manager is responsible for leading the design, harmonisation, and continuous improvement of global logistics processes globally. This includes identifying opportunities for offshoring, driving automation, and enabling digital adoption through standardised processes and targeted training. This role ensures global consistency, efficiency, and scalability by implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies, governing process performance, and leading transformation initiatives in collaboration with operations, shared service centres, and third-party partners. A key focus includes the development and optimisation of delivery models through Centres of Excellence (COEs) and offshoring providers. The role is also responsible for developing and implementing training programs that enhance employee competencies in operational systems, business processes, and soft skills. This role ensures effective live and virtual training delivery, high-quality training materials, and measurable performance improvements. The role oversees pre- and post-training assessments to measure knowledge retention and impact. Responsibilities Process Harmonisation and Standardisation: Drive the design and harmonisation of global logistics processes to ensure efficiency, consistency, and scalability across all regions. Process Optimisation and Automation Enablement: Lead continuous improvement of global logistics workflows using Lean Six Sigma and automation opportunities to reduce waste, enhance service quality, and optimise cost-to-serve. COE Opportunity Identification and Process Transition: Identify and prepare freight forwarding processes suitable for offshoring to Centres of Excellence, enabling operational scalability and standardisation. Change Management and Digital Adoption: Lead cross-functional change initiatives to drive adoption of standardised processes and digital technologies, ensuring alignment across global logistics teams. Performance and Digital Adoption Metrics: Define and track KPIs to measure process optimisation, automation outcomes, and user adoption of digital solutions, ensuring transparency and targeted improvements. Training Strategy and Curriculum Design: Design and implement a global capability development strategy that supports business transformation, process adoption, and operational excellence. Develop role-specific, modular curricula focused on systems proficiency, process standardisation, and behavioural competencies. Create scalable and blended content using e-learning, microlearning, simulations, and job aids. Training Delivery and Trainer Enablement: Lead the delivery of high-impact training via live virtual sessions, in-person workshops, and train-the-trainer models to scale learning across regions and functions. Establish a network of certified trainers to support regional deployment. Incorporate engagement strategies to ensure knowledge retention and post-training application. Mandatory experience Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations with a strong focus on process improvement. Proven track record in designing, standardising, and implementing end-to-end operational processes at a regional or global level. Experience in identifying and preparing processes for offshoring, including documentation, SOP readiness, and training enablement. Hands-on experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies applied to logistics or freight forwarding environments. Experience in leading cross-functional change initiatives across diverse geographies. Familiarity with CargoWise, CRM - Salesforce, and Power BI, Tableau tools. History of developing and delivering training programmes to support process transformation and operational capability. Desirable experience Participation in digital transformation or process automation projects related to operational workflows. Familiarity with compliance-driven industries (e.g. customs, regulated transport) where process accuracy is critical. Involvement in developing blended learning strategies, including e-learning, microlearning, or train-the-trainer programmes. Professional certification in change management (e.g. PROSCI, ADKAR) or instructional design is a plus. Technical skills Solid understanding of global logistics workflows and compliance. Proficient in process mapping tools. Strong command of Lean Six Sigma tools. Skilled in KPI analysis and audit-based performance monitoring. Experienced with training content platforms (SharePoint, LMS). Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills for analysis and reporting.
