This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior perioperative nurse leader to shape clinical services, drive operational excellence, and lead a high-performing team in delivering outstanding patient-centred care. About the Role As Director of Nursing, you will take full leadership of our day surgery operations, ensuring the delivery of world-class care to patients and best-in-class service to doctors and stakeholders. You will oversee clinical governance, patient safety, quality management, and accreditation compliance, while also ensuring optimal commercial and operational outcomes. This role offers the chance to champion continuous improvement, foster a culture of safety and accountability, and develop a cohesive, engaged clinical team. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining VEI’s reputation as a trusted provider of quality ophthalmic care. What You’ll Do Lead and inspire a skilled clinical team, embedding person-centred care in practice. Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient theatre utilisation and workforce planning. Oversee financial performance, budgets, and resource management. Drive quality improvement, safety, infection control, and accreditation compliance. Build strong relationships with VMOs, surgeons, and stakeholders. Develop team capabilities, coach emerging leaders, and foster a high-performance culture. Lead risk management initiatives, WHS practices, and continuous education programs. About You Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration. Minimum 5 years’ senior perioperative nursing leadership experience. Strong understanding of NQSHS standards and clinical governance frameworks. Proven ability to manage budgets, rosters, assets, and business planning. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Postgraduate qualifications in management and/or perioperative nursing (desirable). Current National Police Check. Why Join VEI?
