About the Opportunity We are seeking an accomplished Project Director for a site-based FIFO role (8/6) from Perth, leading major structural remediation projects within the iron ore sector. Leveraging your extensive expertise in managing large-scale, complex iron ore projects, you will apply strategic commercial insight across both time & materials and lump sum contracts. This senior role offers a unique platform to influence project outcomes through authoritative leadership, proactive stakeholder engagement, and robust operational oversight. Your day-to-day includes: Provide strategic leadership and governance over project performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity, safety, and quality across all project phases. Ensure stringent compliance with contractual obligations, proactively managing resources and budgets to deliver sustained project performance within approved financial parameters. Maintain executive oversight of project planning, prioritization, and resource allocation, aligning operational delivery with overarching financial forecasts and organisational objectives. Lead talent acquisition and onboarding strategies, building and nurturing high-performing project teams to meet evolving operational demands. Collaborate with senior internal stakeholders and executive leadership to define and implement site and project strategies that support the company’s long-term vision and growth. Identify and develop opportunities for operational excellence and project innovation, preparing and presenting business cases for executive approval and implementation. Oversee the management and performance of external contractors and suppliers, ensuring strict adherence to quality, safety, and contractual standards. About you Demonstrated success managing large-scale lump sum projects and operations valued over $50 million, alongside time & materials contracts, with expert-level commercial management and contract negotiation skills. Exceptional financial acumen, adept at budget stewardship, risk mitigation, and driving profitable project outcomes. Extensive iron ore industry experience, with a deep understanding of its operational complexities and regulatory environment. Proven ability to lead stakeholder engagement at all levels, including executive clients, regulators, and partners, fostering collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships. Strategic thinker, highly adaptable, and an influential communicator capable of navigating complex organisational landscapes. Comprehensive knowledge of construction management principles, standards, and best practices specific to structural remediation within the mining sector.
