The Company AUSTK Construction Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team in Southport, Queensland. As an Estimator (Townhouse Project), you will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of our upcoming townhouse development. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute your expertise to a dynamic and growing construction company. About the Role We’re looking for a Construction Estimator with a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of residential construction to join our team. You’ll be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing tender processes, and supporting the delivery team with budgeting and procurement across multiple townhouse projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to be involved in projects from concept to completion. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects, covering materials, labour, and subcontractor costs. Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender submissions for townhouse developments Interpret architectural plans, engineering drawings, and specifications Developing project budgets from initial concept through to completion. Conducting cost analysis and forecasting to ensure alignment with financial goals. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing Analyse scope of works and identify cost-saving opportunities Assist in contract negotiations and procurement Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software (Database) Support project managers with budget tracking and cost reporting during construction Participate in design reviews and value engineering workshops Work closely with project managers and site supervisors to monitor and control schedules, costs, and variations. Stay informed on industry trends, new products, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations to forecast costs accurately. Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and company standards Skills & Experience Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as an Estimator in residential construction (townhouse or low-rise preferred) Stong knowledge of QLD construction methods, materials, and pricing Proficiency in estimating software (e.g. Database) and Microsoft Excel Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents Excellent attention to detail, time management, and analytical skills Strong communication and negotiation abilities Trade background or tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, or related field What we offer At AUSTK Construction, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and rewarding work environment for our employees.
