Employment Type: Temporary Part Time Position Classification: Staff Specialist Hours Per Week: 12 Requisition ID: REQ582517 This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join the well-established Menopause service at the Royal Hospital for Women, Sydney. The Royal is one of Australia’s foremost specialist hospitals for women and is the principal teaching hospital for the University of NSW. The Royal is one of four specialist Menopause Hub Services created to support menopause service provision, education and training within NSW. The department is actively growing to provide menopause services across a variety of clinics, including complex menopause clinics, menopause after cancer clinics, mood disorder clinics, and premature menopause clinics. We also provide exercise physiology, gynaecology and vulval dermatology services to women in the peri-menopause and postmenopausal period. The successful applicant will be well supported by the current physicians to participate in general and specialist menopause service provision, along with providing support to our General Practitioner network, both locally and statewide, through telehealth, webinar and face to face educational opportunities. The successful applicant will be aided by a clinical nurse consultant and administrative assistant. Clinical research opportunities and further educational opportunities are available through the University of New South Wales and the SESLHD Women’s Health Research Initiatives. The Royal Hospital for Women has been selected as a Hub within the NSW Health (via the Agency of Clinical Innovation [ACI]) Menopause Hub project. Four years of funding has been provided to establish this state-wide service. The specialist will be expected to be actively involved in the establishment and implantation of this project within the Randwick campus and across the state of NSW. As this position is temporary, there could be a possibility of the contract to be extended without advertising. Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high quality service in the specialty of endocrinology, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality improvement activities relevant to the specialty.Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience in teaching both undergraduate and post graduate students and other staff of the hospital.Demonstrate the skills and attitudes appropriate as a senior Medical Practitioner including modelling a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff and to work as an effective member of the clinical team across multiple sites.
