The Senior IT System Manager is responsible for the IT architecture, network, strategy & management of all IT personnel, POS systems, hardware, software, archival and all ancillary IT functionality of the Flower Power Group of Companies. Also responsible for the overall development and maintenance of the Flower Power Point of Sale, Payroll and Head Office systems. REPORTS TO Directly to the Chief Financial Officer DUTIES OF THE ROLE A hands-on role aiding the support team as well as strategic direction of the IT needs. There will be occasions of direct site and telephone support. Understand and improve the existing IT systems such as POS, Archival, AS400 hardware, redundancy systems & programs Working with Marketing to develop the Group’s web-based environment and preparedness to incorporate industry best practice Appraise and develop the existing Group network architecture and security Appraise and develop the Group’s existing Time and Attendance, Payroll and HR Information System, Employee Self-Service & other functionality Evaluation and implementation of an industry accepted Project Management methodology for all IT programming and system development The supervision and the immediate direct report of all IT team members situated at head office including programming staff, Help Desk & support staff and contractors Evaluation and procurement of hardware, software and systems Evaluation, procurement and ongoing maintenance of telecommunication and associated systems across Head Office, Stores and Wholesale and other designated sites including PABX, IP Telephony, Mobile/Smartphone/Tablet implementation & App development, site DECT systems and network architecture and maintenance Development of various IT Programs and initiatives and their implementation Development of new POS functions including programming for all new requirements as requested and approved by the CFO Training of store and head office staff on POS and Head Office system Documenting the functionality of the POS system and keeping it current Automation of inter-company communications Maintenance and operation of the Windows server Streamline manual processes Be involved with any new technology that may present itself to Flower Power Installation of hardware and cabling when needed This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and growing company that is leading the way in retail nurseries.
