The Position To provide AlburyCity with effective, customer focused regulatory services based on a broad understanding of NSW Legislation and AlburyCity Policy. Qualifications & experience Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or equivalent relevant industry experience Class C (standard) Driver's Licence (compulsory to have & maintain) The requirement to respond to and attend the Albury local government area within a reasonable time when rostered on call. Strong relevant experience in a regulatory role and understanding of regulatory practices in Local Government Tasks & responsibilities Car parking To regularly patrol public carparks and designated street parking areas within the AlburyCity. To learn and implement new innovative systems for parking monitoring To investigate and remove abandoned or unattended vehicles from public roads and property. Stock and animal control To investigate and regulate the control and management of stock and companion animals. Initiate animal impounding procedures and provide administration duties related to animal and stock control matters. Assist with the effective and efficient service delivery at the Albury Animal Care Centre Public land To regulate and manage various activities upon streets, footpaths and areas of public land. To seize and impound abandoned and unapproved articles on public roads or land. Environment To investigate allegations and incidents relating to environmental (air, noise, water & land) contamination and illegal dumping matters. To regulate and monitor parcels of land to minimise the potential for fire outbreak. Planning & Development To investigate allegations or incidents relating to breaches of NSW Legislation, Regulations, Standards or AlburyCity Policies. Hours Based on a 38-hour week, hours of work are in accordance with a seven day a week rotating roster. This roster may be altered in order to meet changing operational needs and service demands.
