About the Role: This is a rare opportunity to lead commercial strategy and deal execution at the intersection of property, carbon, and nature-based investments. Our client is a market leader in Australia’s carbon project development sector, and they’re seeking a high-performingHead of Asset Management and Commercial Transactionsto oversee the acquisition, optimisation, and divestment of land and environmental assets, while enabling capital deployment, managing risk, and driving returns. This role is central to unlocking the commercial value of property and nature-based assets, with a strong focus on land transactions, carbon project development, and capital structuring. The ideal candidate will report directly to the Chief Commercial and Growth Officer and work cross-functionally across finance, legal, governance, and sustainability. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end deal processes, from due diligence and negotiation to post-deal integration and compliance and provide commercial oversight of a growing portfolio that supports real climate outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Lead complex asset and land-based transactions from identification to close Drive portfolio optimisation and asset strategy to support capital growth and carbon project success Manage investor relationships and capital raising activity Structure and negotiate financial instruments (including derivatives where relevant) Ensure commercial governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance Work closely with legal, finance, and project teams to align transactions with broader strategic goals Represent the business externally with stakeholders, investors, and capital partners Strategic, commercial thinker with strong transactional experience Proven ability to lead high-value deals across property, carbon markets, agriculture, or natural capital Comfortable navigating ambiguity and operating across legal, finance, and ESG spheres Curious, accountable, and adaptable — with a sharp eye for value and risk Highly organised and comfortable leading initiatives in fast-paced, growth environments 7 years in asset management, commercial transactions, investment or deal advisory Experience with land-based or environmental project investments (carbon sector highly regarded) Advanced financial modelling, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills Exposure to capital raising, investor relations, and financial structuring Familiarity with legal, regulatory, and contractual frameworks in land and nature-based asset transactions High proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and platforms like SharePoint or Monday.com You’ll be part of a fast-growing, purpose-led organisation shaping climate solutions at scale.
