About the role The Resilient Sydney Office is looking for a skilled and driven strategy and engagement professional to lead its small team in delivering the new Resilient Sydney Strategy. The strategy supports Sydney’s communities, businesses and systems to survive, adapt and thrive, no matter what challenges come their way. This senior role leads the Resilient Sydney program, which is hosted by the City of Sydney and delivered in partnership with the 33 councils across Greater Sydney. You’ll also represent Sydney’s resilience work at national and international levels. In this role, you’ll: work with councils, government, industry and the community to bring the strategy to life inspire and influence a wide range of stakeholders to put resilience thinking into practice oversee the Resilient Sydney data platform and other tools that support the work provide expert advice and secure funding for key initiatives be the main voice for Sydney’s resilience efforts in national and global forums lead the Resilient Sydney Office and manage governance, reporting, people and partnerships We're looking for someone who: has a degree in risk, environmental science, management, engagement or communications brings over 10 years' experience in a senior role, ideally across government or community sectors is a confident leader with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills understands the big social, environmental and economic issues facing Sydney knows how to develop and deliver complex strategies, programs and partnerships thinks strategically, works collaboratively and leads with purpose This is a unique opportunity to shape a more resilient Sydney and work with passionate people who care about the city’s future.
