The key duties of the position include The Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Logistics Officer - Transition to join Space Systems Branch in the Space Domain Awareness System Program Office (SDACSPO) aligning Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) requirements and specifications in the development of transition plans, and contributing to readiness assessments and sustainment arrangements. The ILS Officer will demonstrate strong planning, coordination and communication skills, as well as an understanding of the Capability Life Cycle and CASG governance. Accountabilities include: Assisting with the development and maintenance of transition plans and documentation to support capability handover, sustainment establishment and longer term in service support planning. Evaluating logistics activities and managing stakeholder engagement to ensure capability, contractual and sustainment outcomes are aligned with Defence Capability outcomes. Leading SDACSPO transition management activities in accordance with the Capability Program Architecture and Defence policies and procedures. Engaging stakeholders and negotiate complex issues to understand requirements and positively influence Defence Logistics Capability outcomes. About our Team Space Systems Branch acquires and sustains capabilities to support the four distinct space power roles conducted by the Australian Defence Force in support of Australia's strategic priorities. The team comprises professionals from various disciplines including project management, engineering, commercial, and logistics. This multi-disciplinary team is composed of highly skilled and motivated Australian Public Service, Australian Defence Force and contracted personnel. The team works from Brindabella Park offices in Canberra and maintains close collaboration with other parts of Defence and other Government Agencies. Space Domain Awareness and Control Systems Program Office (SDACSPO) is located in Edinburgh, South Australia and manages Space Domain Awareness and Control in-service capabilities and capabilities in acquisition, engaging with local, regional and international enterprise partners and suppliers, consisting of both foreign governments and industry, to provide support to the Capability Manager. This demands a strong understanding of domestic and international space domain government frameworks and controls. Our Ideal Candidate SDACSPO is seeking a skilled Logistics Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will undertake a variety of tasks related to elements of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) and capability transition. This will include the development of support documentation, transition plans and embedding logistics requirements in contracting frameworks, including ASDEFCON support. The successful applicant will have the following key attributes: Experience in preparing and coordinating workshops on logistic matters in order to achieve project and business outcomes. A high degree of judgement in the analysis of transition management issues, reporting of risk, and recommendation of appropriate actions. Evaluation experience in transition management activities, including critical factors for success and engaging in activities to achieve continuous improvement. Understanding of the Defence Sustainment Framework, Capability Life Cycle and Integrated Logistics Support requirements. Experience in the preparation of correspondence, briefs and reports including documents for higher delegate consideration.
