The Role: Lindsay Transport is currently seeking a Driver / Trade Assistant to be based at our new workshop in Virginia. This is a dual-role position combining truck driving with parts and workshop support. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our fleet and operations run smoothly by getting our trucks to and from the workshop as well as assisting with parts and general workshop duties. Ideally suited to someone who is keen to stay in the cab but is looking for a more work / life balance. As a new role, this is ever evolving in the duties; a real opportunity to make it your own. Your main responsibilities will include: Safely transport company trucks from depot to our workshop for maintenance purposes. Support the spare parts with such things as - Local pickup of parts Receiving & rotation of stock, ensuring all placed in correct location Stock takes Support the workshop team with manual and basic maintenance tasks Ensure cleanliness and orderliness in the workshop and spare parts areas About you: The candidates we are looking for will have: Have a current & valid MC licence as a minimum Experience in relevant licence class including confident reversing abilities Have a commitment to workplace health and safety Be well presented, professional and reliable Previous experience in a transport, mechanical, or workshop or parts environment highly advantageous. To be successful for this role applicants must: Pass a Commercial Drivers Health Assessment including drug and alcohol test Provide a current traffic print out Have the capability to meet the physical demands of the position – this includes getting in and out of the truck throughout the day & performing manual workshop tasks and heavy lifting at times.
