The key duties of the position include The Role The EL 1 Logistics Manager is accountable to the Director Small Uncrewed Aerial Systems and is responsible to lead and manage an integrated ILS management cell consisting of both acquisition and sustainment specialists, and guide and govern industry partners who undertake ILS functions on behalf of Defence. The EL 1 Logistics Manager will be accountable for the development and implementation of policies and procedure related to the ILS function, and imparting an in-depth knowledge of legislative frameworks, government decision making, and organisation missions and policy requirements. The EL 1 Logistics Manager will exercise sound judgment to provide expert policy advice; engage in complex problem solving and issues management and build and maintain key stakeholder relationships. The EL 1 Logistics Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that contracts are executed effectively, efficiently and in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations while contributing to the continuous improvement of UASPO. This role has been identified as requiring access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) controlled technology. The ITAR is United States (US) law, which regulates defence articles, including technical data, and defence services on the United States Munitions List. Access restrictions may apply based on currently held/previously held citizenship, as well as current permanent residency. Defence may be able to utilise workforce exemptions to mitigate these restrictions, which generally requires that applicants provide details of all current citizenships and permanent residencies, as well as previously held citizenships.
