Base pay range A$220,000.00/yr - A$280,000.00/yr Position Overview My client has a fantastic reputation within the life sciences industry and have big plans ahead. They are seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations and execute significant expansion. As such, they have seen a steady growth trajectory over the last few years and intend to follow suit in this next step in their evolution. The company continues to support the mission to advance clinical research and deliver high-quality patient care flying the flag here in Australia. Therefore they are looking for a candidate with some appreciation of this area from working within the life sciences industry. With the leadership team all on shore in Australia, decisions can be made swiftly and the company is agile. This role will manage a team of accounts payable and accounts receivable personnel expectedly. Reporting into the Group CFO. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of clinical research and patient care being part of a top tier clinical organisation. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will have the chance to shape the financial direction of a growing company dedicated to excellence in clinical trials. Key Duties: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability. Set out growth plans working with the senior leadership teams, assessing demand and allocating resource Oversee the preparation and management of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses to inform decision-making. Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and manage financial risks effectively. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement to enhance operational efficiency without compromising quality. Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development. Communicate financial performance and strategic initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, including investors, regulatory bodies, and partners. Qualifications 10 years in financial management, with an absolute pre-requisite need to have at least 5 years in a CFO role within the life sciences sector. Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, regulatory requirements, and financial management in a clinical research setting. Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite. Proven ability to lead and develop teams, manage cross-functional projects, and drive organizational change.
