About the Role We’re currently seeking an experienced SMP Supervisor – Process Plant to join our site team on a major resource sector development in western New South Wales. This is a FIFO position on a 2:1 roster, offering the opportunity to play a key leadership role in the safe and efficient delivery of complex SMP scopes across construction and commissioning phases. You’ll be responsible for supervising field activities, managing contractors, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule targets are achieved on a technically challenging process plant installation. This is a hands-on site leadership role for someone who thrives in structured, high-compliance environments and has a strong track record delivering SMP works in the mining or resources sector. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate all site-based SMP (Structural, Mechanical, Piping) construction and installation activities. Lead and mentor trade contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of daily work. Conduct and lead daily pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and Construction Risk Assessments. Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations, permit-to-work systems, and site safety procedures. Monitor contractor performance, apply site rules consistently, and contribute to performance evaluations. Oversee adherence to project specifications, drawings, and quality documentation requirements. Participate in incident investigations, HSE audits, and critical control verifications. Coordinate site logistics including deliveries, site access, and signage to ensure smooth field operations. Maintain site cleanliness and enforce high standards of housekeeping across work areas. Liaise with other supervisors, engineers, and planners to ensure alignment of work scope and construction schedule. Identify and resolve technical issues in collaboration with engineering, QA/QC, and other stakeholders. Maintain accurate daily records on progress, safety observations, productivity, and delays. Ensure proper completion of punch lists and turnover documentation to support commissioning phases. Support the development and enforcement of site-specific safety and execution strategies. Promote a positive safety culture through visible leadership and accountability. Identify training or upskilling needs within your team and communicate requirements to leadership. Assist in work package closeout and ensure documentation is properly submitted and archived. About You Trade-qualified in a relevant SMP discipline. Minimum 5 years extensive on-site supervisory experience in process plant or mining construction. Proven leadership in safety, contractor coordination, and workface planning Solid understanding of structural, mechanical, and piping systems and standards. Comfortable working with completions systems (Hexagon Smart Completions highly regarded). Familiar with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and able to maintain accurate documentation. Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
