The Job Melbourne City FC is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and goal-driven individual to join our Commercial team as a Membership Sales Executive. In this pivotal role, you will assist in driving the Club’s membership growth and revenue targets. You’ll be responsible for generating new sales, developing and delivering effective sales plans, and helping build a strong, engaged member base that reflects the pride and passion of our Club. Reporting to our Head of Membership, this is a results-focused position that demands initiative, professionalism, and a relentless approach to sales performance. You’ll engage directly with prospective and current members, primarily through phone-based outreach, with the goal of converting interest into long-term commitment. The role is initially offered on a fixed term casual basis, working up to 4 days per week for approximately 12 weeks from mid-August, with scope to extend, for the right candidate. Who are we? Melbourne City FC is part of a global football business, City Football Group (CFG). We compete in Australia’s elite domestic football competition, the A-Leagues, with both men’s and women’s teams, state and youth leagues, the Australia Cup competition, and the Asian Football Confederation competitions, including the Asian Champions League. Key Responsibilities · Proactively sell membership packages by making outbound calls to members to introduce the company's products or services. · Identifying and qualifying potential leads or growth campaigns through inbound and outbound lead generation methods such as cold calling, email campaigns, and online research. · Handle inbound sales inquiries and manage a sales pipeline through to close. · Follow up on lapsed members and previous enquirers to re-engage them with current offers. · Develop and manage a personal sales pipeline through the functionality of the membership CRM. · Provide feedback to the Manager on campaign performance and fan interest. · Participate and contribute to daily or weekly Membership team meeting and training sessions. · Attendance at all Melbourne City Football Club events and matches to promote and sell membership and ticketing packages to our supporter base. · Engage fans in match day and events high-traffic areas (e.g. fan zones, hospitality lounges, ticketing offices) to explain membership benefits and process purchases. What We Are Looking For · Tertiary qualifications or some study in business, marketing, or communications (preferred but not essential) · 1–3 years’ experience in sales or telesales, ideally within sport, membership, or ticketing (or a strong interest in sport and fan culture) · A natural salesperson with a proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets. · Confident, clear communicator—with excellent verbal and written skills; able to sell and influence over the phone and in person · Comfortable working in a KPI-driven environment with regular reporting · Familiar with CRM systems and lead generation techniques, or eager to learn · Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines · A reliable team player who is adaptable, enthusiastic, and customer-focused · Able to work independently or as part of a team, with a can-do attitude and professional approach · Quick learner with a flexible mindset and high attention to detail Essential Requirements · Work rights in Australia, · Current Victorian Working with Children Check (or willing to apply). · National Police Check (or willing to apply).
