PAGMA connects professionals, promotes innovation and sustainability, and serves as a bridge among communities, industries, and government entities. Purpose of the RoleThe Advocacy, Sponsorship, Fundraising & Government Affairs Officer plays a vital role in supporting PAGMA’s long-term sustainability and impact through the following means: ✅ Establishing strategic partnerships and securing sponsorships, ✅ Obtaining funding and grants, ✅ Representing PAGMA to government bodies and external stakeholders, and ✅ Advocating for the organisation’s mission and core values.This position is ideally suited for an individual with a background and experience in government relations, fundraising, or corporate partnerships who possesses a strong interest in international collaboration, community development, and sustainability within the mining sector. Key Responsibilities1. Sponsorship Acquisition & FundraisingIdentify and engage corporate partners, industry leaders, philanthropic organisations, and aligned non-profit supporters.Develop and present tailored sponsorship proposals and partnership packages.Lead fundraising initiatives and campaigns that align with PAGMA’s non-profit mission and primary events.Identify and apply for relevant government and private grants to further support PAGMA’s programs.2. Government Affairs & AdvocacyBuild and sustain relationships with government representatives and relevant agencies at the local, state, and federal levels.Identify policy opportunities or government programs where PAGMA can contribute and collaborate.Represent PAGMA in meetings and consultations with public officials.Advocate for PAGMA’s mission, particularly in areas such as innovation, cross-cultural collaboration, education, sustainability, and leadership within the mining sector3. Stakeholder Engagement and VisibilityStrengthen PAGMA’s network across industry, government, and community sectors.Enhance PAGMA’s public profile and promote its unique cross-cultural value proposition.Support the CEO and board in identifying strategic alliances.4. Reporting and AccountabilityMaintain comprehensive and transparent records of sponsorships, funding applications, advocacy activities, and partnerships.Provide regular reports to the CEO and board regarding progress, outcomes, and emerging opportunities. Desired Skills and AttributesDemonstrate experience in fundraising, sponsorships, government relations, or business development.Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and proposal writing skills.Mining background, ability to align corporate or government interests with the non-profit vision of PAGMA.A fervent interest in international collaboration, mining innovation, and cultural exchange.Self-motivated and capable of independent work, while remaining committed to team alignment and shared objectives.
