Management AccountantImmediate StartCompetitive Hourly RateTemporary Management Accountant role with a State Government Department requiring an immediate start Your new company Are you an experienced Management Accountant, immediately available and looking for a new 6-mont contract? Our Perth-based State Government Department client is seeking an experienced finance professional to join their finance team, on a temporary contract basis and with the possibility of extension. Your new role Provides business management analysis and support.Develops and manages program budgets.Analyses, evaluates, reports and provides advice on divisional performance against agreed indicators.Contributes to and coordinates the development of business plans.Develops and/or participates in the preparation of business cases for new/improved services to be presented to internal and external stakeholders.Participates in the development and implementation of strategies to manage unplanned variance.Establish and monitor service arrangements with external providers (including through service-level agreements and contracts).Develops and maintains effective networks and working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, management, other public sector agencies and members of the community.Contributes to the development of targets for activity, expenditure and FTE requirements.In liaison with senior management, develops and manages program budgets, which includes: Preparing the annual budget, equipment and capital works submissions;Assisting in budget negotiations;Assisting in the development and implementation of strategies to meet the financial constraints of the budget;Monitoring and reporting on divisional financial performance, including through the development and maintenance of appropriate financial systems and controls; and,Preparing financial and budgetary reports and statements.Assisting in identifying and providing financial input to proposals to improve the provision of patient services.Provides input to the ongoing management of the Asset Register.What you'll need to succeed Proven experience in the development, implementation, and management of business systems and operational practices, including health information management systems.Demonstrated capability in preparing comprehensive business plans and well-structured business cases to support strategic initiatives and service improvements.Sound knowledge and practical experience in budget formulation, monitoring, and financial management within a complex organisational setting.Strong conceptual and analytical abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to produce high-quality reports that clearly communicate complex information.Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work flexibly, adapt to changing priorities, and apply innovative approaches to achieve performance targets.Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise, consult, and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders across various contexts.What you'll get in return A competitive market hourly rate.The opportunity to start the contract immediately.6-month contract with the possibility of extension.What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
