About the role: This position’s primary focus is to support and assist members of the division in completing their core duties, with ongoing development and learning to scale up responsibilities and ultimately become autonomous in advising clients on R&D Tax and Government Incentives and commercial matters. Key Responsibilities: Develop an understanding of the following concepts: e ligibility for the R&D tax incentive; e ligible expenditure and allowable deductions; f undamental concepts in R&D tax legislation and associated accounting principles; and f undamental concepts in financial reporting, tax and accounting. Develop basic knowledge of various industries (software, engineering and science preferred) that are able to claim the R&D Tax Incentive; Ability to assist with the completion of R&D registrations, costings, ATO schedules and close out letters; Develop research skills and problem solving skills; Demonstrate excellent communication skills with clients both through written correspondence and verbally; and Ability to undertake various administrative tasks including preparing files, filing, completing timesheets and organising meetings . About you: Essential Completing Science / Engineering / IT or ICT / Commerce / Finance / Accounting / Tax / Law degree Strong written communication skills (demonstrated experience in technical, scientific or legal writing is critical for this role). Strong analytical skills (e.g. ability to assess law and provide well-reasoned arguments). Strong data processing skills (Microsoft suite critical, ability to utilise other tools will be advantageous). Ability to work autonomously (including ability to research solutions prior to consulting Senior members of the team) and as part of a team. Strong business acumen and business maturity to balance multiple client assignments is desired. Strong attention to detail with the ability to simultaneously meet strict deadlines.
