Job Description About the team and the role The Commercial team is a critical revenue stream for the Airport and Retail is a scale segment within Commercial responsible for the revenue generated from scale retail tenants and multiple key contracts. The Commercial team works with internal and external partners and stakeholders to optimise retailer performance, determine drivers and barriers to retail sales growth and work through retail partners to execute sales driving initiatives with excellence. Reporting to the Senior Manager - Retail Data & Analytics, the Business Intelligence Analyst plays a key role in shaping financial and management initiatives through data. You will collaborate with stakeholders to uncover actionable insights and support smart decision-making. This dynamic role involves crafting high-quality analytics, engaging presentations, detailed reports, and conducting thorough research to drive informed decisions. Please note this is a 12-month fixed term contract. In this role, you will have the opportunity to Business Reporting - calculate, monitor, and report on key financial, operational, and retail metrics. Create weekly executive summary reports with trend analysis and actionable insights, enhancing monthly reports with performance and benchmarking analysis, and design systems to automatically flag significant performance deviations and anomalies. Data Processing & Analysis - document analytical processes, create standardised methodologies and templates, analyse sales performance across various categories, segment tenant performance, and use clustering techniques to identify and replicate best practices. Advanced Analytics - conduct market and basket analysis to identify strategic tenant placement opportunities, develop competitive intelligence reports to compare airport performance against benchmarks, and perform price sensitivity analysis to determine optimal pricing strategies and promotional effectiveness. Proof of Concept & Initiative Measurement - design and implement measurement frameworks for new retail concepts, conduct A/B testing to evaluate strategies, create longitudinal studies to track long-term impacts, and apply experimental design principles to ensure valid conclusions. Stakeholder Communication & Insights Delivery - collaborate with Tech and Data teams to optimise reporting infrastructure, present analytical findings to various audiences, translate complex analysis into actionable recommendations, support data-driven decision-making, and develop executive briefing materials that highlight key insights and trends. About you Undergraduate degree in a relevant quantitative field required, with a preference for backgrounds in commercial, finance, accounting, statistics, economics. 3-5 years' experience in finance or data analytics role is essential and experience in Retail Analytics is highly advantageous Demonstrable experience in translating complex data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. Skilled in influencing and driving decision-making through data storytelling. Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI), programming languages such as SQL and Python, and Microsoft packages is highly regarded. Demonstrated capability to work across multiple projects with good time management and prioritisation skills. You thrive working in a dynamic, complex and fast paced environment.
