THE OPPORTUNITY As Payroll Team Leader, you will take ownership of day-to-day operations while helping guide the team through a period of change and improvement. In addition to overseeing BAU processes, you'll act as a technical escalation point, contribute to system and process enhancements, and assist with the ongoing integration of multiple business entities into a consolidated payroll structure. The workforce is complex and heavily weighted toward New Zealand operations, with alternating fortnightly payrolls supporting over 1,500 employees across ANZ. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Manage end-to-end payroll delivery in a multi-entity environment Lead, coach, and develop junior payroll team members Provide support on award interpretation and ensure compliance across jurisdictions Act as a subject matter expert on payroll systems and processes Contribute to key transformation projects focused on automation, governance, and simplification Step into processing where required to ensure seamless service delivery Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to improve payroll accuracy and efficiency ABOUT YOU You'll be a resilient, hands-on payroll leader who enjoys problem-solving and thrives in environments where systems and processes are still maturing. You're comfortable juggling BAU with project work and have a calm, pragmatic approach that brings out the best in others.
