About the Role As a Data Analyst specialising in the NEM, you will support a range of technical and strategic advisory projects for clients across the energy sector. This is a role for someone passionate about data, systems and how they influence commercial decisions, policy settings and the future of Australia’s electricity markets. You’ll work with structured and unstructured data, develop reproducible workflows, and contribute to modelling and visualisation frameworks that support key policy, regulatory and investment decisions. Key Responsibilities Extract, clean and manipulate market data to support analysis across dispatch, pricing, settlement and bidding behaviour Build reproducible workflows and contribute to internal libraries, tools and modelling frameworks Translate modelling results and raw data into actionable insights for clients Present technical and non-technical findings to a range of stakeholders, including regulators, policymakers and market participants Collaborate with multidisciplinary consultants across market design, engineering and commercial strategy Contribute to the evolution of in-house systems, documentation and quality control procedures Practice Focus Electricity spot market operations and dispatch Bidding and rebidding strategy Wholesale price drivers and investment signals Policy and regulatory impacts on market dynamics Network congestion, curtailment and marginal loss factors Demand forecasting and load analysis Candidate Profile You will have demonstrable experience in data analysis or market analytics within the energy sector, with a strong understanding of NEM dynamics and datasets. Your communication skills enable you to distil complex technical findings into clear narratives, and you’re confident working both independently and collaboratively in a consulting environment.
