With a strong team culture and a focus on excellence, they’re looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to support the Finance Manager across the whole financial function. This role is pivotal in ensuring the operational areas are supported through the finance department. As the Assistant Accountant your key responsibilities centre on the Finance Department outcomes, assisting the Finance Manager in producing the businesses financial and management accounts, cash control and accounts payable. The position is full-time and based in Mona vale, and you will need permanent residency to be considered. Responsibilities: Maintain an overall working knowledge of the policies and procedures Support the Finance Manager in processing and producing all financial and management periodic reports Assist in the preparation of any internal and external compliance reviews (e.g., external audits etc.) Assist in the preparation of NSW and Federal tax and other reporting requirements Assist the Finance Manager with budget preparation and analysis Support the Finance Manager in month-end processes such as preparing accruals and prepayments and other journals Provide information to Finance Manager regarding cash on premises including TCR, CRT and ATM, advising if levels are adequate or require increasing/decreasing Process accounts payable invoices and reconciles for payment Liaise with department heads and suppliers regarding stock invoices, credit notes, discrepancies that may arise Participating in stock take activities as required Assist in maintaining the Club’s POS System including restaurant menu and beverage menu data entry and updates. Provide reports as required for the Department Heads for their respective departments EFTPOS settlement reconciliation for individual tills Undertake reconciliation of coin on hand and provide Armguard with order for deliveries as required Provide Operations Managers with reporting on cash variances in tills daily Qualifications and Experience: Accreditation in accounting or equivalent practical experience and knowledge You will be required to register for a National Police check Intermediate level Microsoft Office Applications and Xero Excellent communication Ability to work as part of a team Effective time management and problem-solving Previous experience in a similar position Be self-motivated, reliable, punctual and honest APPLY NOW by sending your resume to amanda@optimalrecruitment.com.au or for a confidential chat please call Amanda on 02 8416 4181
