ConsultANZ looking for a Safety Advisor to ensure health and safety compliance across key civil construction projects, including road maintenance, traffic management, and bridges. This role involves working closely with subcontractors, verifying safety systems, and managing incidents and investigations. RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as the primary safety mentor for site personnel, promoting a strong culture of workplace health and safety. Assist in preparing, implementing, and maintaining safety systems, plans, procedures, and strategies for projects. Conduct regular verification checks to ensure that health and safety measures are in place and adhered to on-site. Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure safety compliance. Manage incident reporting, investigations, and safety documentation. Work a mix of day and night shifts, reporting directly to the Safety Manager. Foster relationships with site staff, management, and clients to improve safety outcomes. REQUIREMENTS: Extensive experience in the civil construction industry, particularly in road maintenance, traffic management, and bridge projects. Certificate IV or tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). Proven on-site construction/engineering experience. Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to build rapport with site staff, management, client representatives, and auditors. Demonstrated ability to influence improved health and safety outcomes.
