Position title: Case Manager Department: MSI Australia Counselling and Case Management team Reports to: Manager - Psychosocial Health Duration: Permanent, Part Time Hours of work: 3 days per week (0.6 FTE), 9am – 5.06pm, must be able to work a Wednesday The role: As a Case Manager you’ll support women and pregnant people unable to access reproductive healthcare. Working to short deadlines, you’ll assess eligibility for funding, provide brief counselling and offer external referral options. Your work is grounded in a feminist intersectional framework, with a strong commitment to quality, trauma-informed care. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, while completing data reporting, administrative and case noting requirements. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible impact on client wellbeing, while gaining specialist skills and knowledge. Key Responsibilities: Assess client eligibility for MSI case management based on gestation, location, and funding criteria, and conduct financial hardship assessments in line with MSI and third-party guidelines. Manage funding applications within delegated authority. Provide therapeutic responses, in the context of onward referral to relevant support services such as Centrelink, GPs, housing, and family violence services. Participate in care coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, safe, and accessible client care. Meet reporting and KPI requirements for MSI and contracted services and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Supervise students on placement if qualified, and support team learning through mentoring, training, and resource sharing. Participate in leave coverage roster for Counselling Intake. This will necessitate regular participation in the role, under supervision, to ensure up to date knowledge of procedures. Maintain accurate and timely case notes and data logs in accordance with organisational and industry standards. Attend individual and group supervision, team meetings, performance reviews, professional development, and working groups as required. Uphold organisational values, policies, confidentiality, and codes of conduct in all aspects of work. Skills and Qualifications: (Essential) Pro-choice and person-centred practice Strong knowledge of trauma informed care principles Well-developed understanding of issues experienced by women and pregnant people including child safety and family violence, reproductive coercion and abuse, discrimination and the necessary organisational/professional responses. Experience with diverse and under serviced client groups such as LGBTQIA, older persons, First Nations’ peoples, young people, people living with a disability. Able to work autonomously and as part of a team. Excellent time management skills. Capacity to reflect on your practice, critically analyse information, write clearly and thoughtfully, review and develop procedures. Well-developed IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office. Minimum undergraduate degree in Social Work.
