We are looking for an experienced Hypalon tube builder to join our workshop based in O’Connor, Perth. This is a small friendly team that works on RIB’s (Rigid inflatable boats) for both recreational and defence clients. This is a full-time position and an exciting role to get involved in the development of an Australian made product. All aspects of tube building including but not limited to: -Disassembly and labelling -Templating and modifying -Tracing, free handing and applying modifications -Freehand cutting -Extensive knowledge for the preparation of Hypalon -Chemical and adhesive processes -Construct and manipulate material -Correct use of “pressing” process -Deconstruct and amend or adapt if required -Quality control and testing Must be able to provide significant evidence of the below: -Minimum of 2 years’ experience of building Hypalon tubes -Good attention to detail -Understanding which process to follow depending on the type of RIB -Templating, modifying & measuring -Precise freehand drawing and cutting skills -Evidence of formal training and experience -Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate work knowledge by completing tests -Proof of previous tubes built without assistance (this can be a portfolio). This role involves building brand new Hypalon tubes, you will need to be able to work independently and as a team. Duties include frequent tool use and use of materials and consumables that might be dangerous or considered hazardous to health.
