Job Title Geotechnical Engineer Job Roster Lifestyle friendly 8/6 roster FIFO from Perth to Leonora or DIDO Job Summary In charge of counsel, arranging and strategy to streamline the mine framework Job Statement We have an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer within our Technical Services team at Leonora in Western Australia. In this role you will provide timely and fit-for-purpose geotechnical advice to support the site to meet operational outputs whilst sharpening your overall geotechnical skillset. This is a permanent full-time opportunity on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster Fly-In Fly-Out, Drive-in Drive-out, or Residential basis. Flight time from Perth, is just over 1 hour to Leonora then a short bus ride to your accommodation in town and a 10-minute drive to our Gwalia mine site. The Opportunity: Developing and maintaining up-to-date and accurate geotechnical information on the Leonora ore bodies which includes Gwalia, Ulysses and Admiral. Reviewing mine geotechnical performance daily with coordination contact with mine production personnel. Proactively identify, analyse, and manage geotechnical risks to personnel, infrastructure, environment and production. Developing and maintaining the Gwalia Deeps seismic system, including routine monitoring and reporting of seismic events. Prism monitoring of the open pits and periodic assessment of slope stability in surface mining areas (In-pit waste dump, tailings reclaim, landfill site etc.). Taking an active role in formulating and executing continuous improvement projects. Participating in feasibility studies with the mine team, concerning the geotechnical, mining, and economic viability of deposits for recommendation to management. Assisting Underground Manager / Alternate in developing annual mine production targets. Assisting the Senior Geotechnical Engineer to ensure clear articulation of geotechnical objectives and goals. We’re excited to hear from you if you have: A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Geology or Geotechnical Engineering Experience in the mining industry, with appropriate experience in underground mining Experience in both open pit and underground mining is desirable but not essential You should feel a strong alignment with Genesis values as you will be required to live them. Current unencumbered West Australian C Class Manual Driver’s Licence.
