About This Role: The Area Manager II conducts activities which have preparatory or auxiliary character for the purpose of developing Hunter's business in an assigned territory (Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam). Collects and communicates information pertinent to business progress with the regional team and next level managers. The focus includes training, education and specification to agricultural customers including center pivot manufacturers, irrigation dealers, contractors, growers, distributors, designers, and government agencies. You are an experienced, local technical expert in support of customers and relationships in the field and driving demand and specification of our products. Demonstrates behavior consistent with Hunter’s values of Customer Satisfaction, Innovation, Family, and Social Responsibility. *This role requires extensive travel, up to 60-70% dependent upon season activity and customer needs. Applicants MUST be willing and able to travel. While the territory is vast, 90% of travel will be within Australia and New Zealand. In order to best serve our customers, applicants MUST reside, and have permanent work rights, in Australia or New Zealand. Essential Functions: Takes action to maximize Senninger's exposure and success. Facilitates demand for Senninger products at a variety of levels to assist in achieving distribution goals. Acting as local intermediary, may recommend distribution changes as necessary and informs management of events, territory occurrences, and other pertinent information. May alert management of potential customer credit problems and may recommend credit line adjustments. Has individual budget available to achieve business goals. Manages expenditures within budget, saving money whenever possible, and seeking approval for items or events outside of allocated budget. Executes customer training programs, trade shows, and promotional events in assigned territory. Directs field service and support as required. Advises on warranty policies and procedures in line with company policy. Collects data for forecasts and market data reports as required. Travels as needed to accomplish goals. Education Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent four-year degree in business administration, marketing, agronomy, agricultural engineering, or seven years equivalent agricultural irrigation industry and technical experience. Experience Required: Minimum of seven years of Agricultural Irrigation, and technical support experience within the agricultural irrigation industry in both Center Pivot and Solid Set applications. What You Bring: Knowledge of commercial channels, pricing, marketing, and distribution models within the industry. Effective specification and presentation skills, with the demonstrated ability to attain goals. Ability to explain the features and benefits of Hunter Agricultural Irrigation products. Ability to conduct training and educational programs. Technical knowledge of company and competitor products. Ability to perform field service, troubleshoot irrigation systems, and recommend solutions. Knowledge of finance and budgeting processes. Ability to prepare budgets and manage expenses within budget. Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English or regional languages. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and to provide a high level of customer service and support. Basic computer skills with ability to use Windows programs and to perform word processing, spreadsheet, and database management on a personal computer. Valid driver's license and driving record sufficient to meet requirements to be insured by company. Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport. Fluency in languages commonly spoken within the region. Knowledge of regional business and cultural practices. Irrigation Association (IA) Level II certification with additional Level III certifications is preferred. Willingness and ability to work flexible hours.
