About the roles The Disability Liaisons (DLOs) are the primary contact point to provide support to access assessment and treatment services for people with disability. The role works to address barriers that prevent people with disability from accessing services including fear, uncertainty and issues with accessibility. It involves liaising with people with a disability and clinical teams to provide accessible, safer and more inclusive care. The role may work across Eastern Health sites as well as in the community. We have one permanent role for 32 hours a fortnight and one Fixed-term role for 64 hours a fortnight. About you To be successful in this role you will possess: • Qualifications in allied health discipline or nursing • Current registration with AHPRA or relevant professional body • A strong commitment to high quality care • Experience in a senior clinical role • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to promote teamwork, and a proven ability to relate effectively to people at all levels of the organisation • Good understanding of the needs and issues for people who have a disability and a comprehensive knowledge of the range of generic and specialist service options available to clients including but not limited to physical, emotional, and mental health, accommodation, legal matters, employment and education • Lived experience, particularly those with experience or understanding of intersectional identities, including LGBTIQA, Aboriginal and CALD people with disability (desirable) • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite • A current drivers’ license Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.
