Reporting into our State Manager VIC our Underwriter will be instrumental in building trust, loyalty, and sustainable partnerships that drive business objectives and establish GT Insurance as a preferred partner in the industry. This is a hybrid role which includes Underwriting and Relationship Development. Your responsibilities will include: Underwriting heavy motor insurance risks, for a panel of Brokers ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines and standards. Preparing quotations for renewals, new business and manage ongoing endorsements. Develop, build, and maintain sustainable relationships across all broker and customer segments to achieve targets through the execution of established strategies and business model frameworks. Manage stakeholder relationships with fellow underwriters and claims providing advice on customer contracts, addressing concerns, and resolving issues to enhance customer experience. Monitoring performance to ensure key financial indicators are achieved, namely GWP and Profit measures. Provide feedback to stakeholders and enhance relationships and to capitalise on business opportunities. Ensure adherence to industry regulations, legal requirements, and company policies. Keep up to date with industry best practices by participating in business related industry forms and working groups. Skills & Experience: Experience in the motor insurance industry with in-depth knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, insurance laws and regulations are essential. Experience working as an Underwriter (Motor Underwriting exp desirable) Hands-on experience working with Brokers and the ability to build strategic relationships to drive a business outcome and targets. Strategic sales ability including effective business planning, negotiation skills and ability to influence and persuade. Customer-focused mindset and the ability to partner with internal stakeholders (i.e. Sales and Claims) to support positive customers outcomes and problem solving. A team player, who is collaborative and willing to share your expertise and knowledge for a best practice customer experience.
