Extensive technical knowledge of VFX production and CG pipelines, including extensive knowledge of Shotgrid, Houdini, USD, Maya, Nuke, Unreal, Solaris, Katana, Redshift and Arnold. The creative depth to successfully produce high quality photoreal and stylised CG work. Working closely with VFX Supervisor to interpret the client’s creative vision, oversee every aspect of CG production. Effective communicator with openness to explore various approaches, giving and receiving feedback, and skilled at managing a team through competing priorities and deadlines. Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to juggle several tasks in a highly efficient manner. Devising and implementing pipeline configurations and workflows that suit the technical and creative needs of the project. Collaborating with Department Supervisors and Leads in supervising artists to achieve the artistic goals of the production. Collaborating with Production to ensure project milestones are met within schedule and budget. Collaborating with 2D to ensure smooth workflow between 3D and 2D departments. Assisting in all technical aspects of VFX production throughout the entire CG pipeline, including project set up, interdisciplinary troubleshooting, to asset delivery to Comp. A team player at all times with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively. Run effective and productive Dailies and set overall technical approach and direction for CG artists on any given project. Working with the Head of CG to design and implement tools across the department and verify technical solutions proposed by the Team. Coordinating solutions with the Technical Directors (TDs) in solving problems the production faces on a day-to-day basis. Keeping up on current technology trends and tools that best suits the development of a stronger creative technical environment at Fin Design Effects. Working with the management and leadership team to identify development needs for future projects. Qualifications 5 years experience as the CG supervisor on high caliber VFX film and TV episodic projects Thorough understanding and experience in combining VFX elements into live action plates Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to juggle several tasks in a highly efficient manner A team leader who is able to effectively communicate with people at all levels, technical and non-technical crew A team player at all times with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively Extensive technical knowledge of VFX production and CG pipelines Extensive knowledge of Houdini, USD, Maya, and knowledge in Unreal a plus Comfortable with a Window environment Excellent working knowledge of Solaris, Katana, Redshift and/or Arnold is an asset Technical aptitude to identify and solve technical problems as they arise Experience working with Shotgrid or similar programs Knowledge of NUKE is a plus On-set VFX experience is a plus
