ConsultANZ is looking for a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Advisor to join a respected construction company based in Sydney on a permanent, full-time basis. This critical role focuses on ensuring workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all HSE practices on site. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure full compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental legislation. Review, update, and enforce site safety procedures and protocols. Provide expert advice on injury prevention, health initiatives, and hazard management. Evaluate subcontractor safety systems and documentation. Lead the implementation of site-specific safety programs and initiatives. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and toolbox talks. Assist with risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies. Support incident investigations and ensure accurate, timely reporting. Prepare and maintain emergency response plans tailored to project requirements. Provide HSEQ insights and feedback to drive continuous improvement. Report all incidents to the HSE Manager within 30 minutes of occurrence. Coordinate with regulatory authorities and facilitate safety meetings as needed. WHAT YOU BRING A tertiary qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field. 5 years’ experience in a similar HSE role, preferably within civil or mining sectors. Familiarity with ICAMS or other incident reporting and compliance systems is desirable. Strong ability to communicate, engage, and influence across all levels of the business. Excellent time management, organisation, and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with sound judgment and initiative.
