Stanton & Killeen, a family-owned winery in beautiful Rutherglen, is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cellar Door Sales Assistant to join their team on a casual basis, generally working a Friday and Saturday roster. About the Role You’ll be the welcoming face of Stanton & Killeen's Cellar Door, sharing your knowledge of their wines and delivering exceptional customer experiences. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who loves people, loves wine, and possesses a high level of digital literacy. What You’ll Do Engage with customers in a knowledgeable, friendly, and professional way Conduct wine tastings and promote Stanton & Killeen's range of wines and merchandise Operate Shopify POS, handle cash and EFTPOS transactions Open and close the Cellar Door, including cash reconciliation Pack orders and manage stock control Maintain a clean, inviting, and high-quality presentation of Stanton & Killeen's tasting area (including cleaning duties) Ensure responsible service of alcohol and food handling standards Assist at winery events (including setup/pack down— at times outside normal hours) Work collaboratively as part of a supportive and friendly team What You’ll Bring RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate (essential) Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or cellar door sales (preferred) Genuine interest in wine, wine tourism, and the local region Tech savvy/digital native—confident using point-of-sale systems, digital ordering, and online tools Computer literacy (Shopify POS experience highly regarded) Strong numeracy and communication skills Reliability, self-motivation, proactive and a team-first attitude High standard of personal presentation and attention to detail Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform hands-on tasks Why Join the Stanton & Killeen Team?
